Frank Charles Armijo was the son of Antonio Jose Armijo and Josephine Silva of Albuquerque. He married young to Patsy Armijo and had a daughter Christine before he joined the military. He enlisted in the Army on 23 December 1968 after early training was shipped to Vietnam.1 PFC Armijo was killed on LZ Jaime while manning his howitzer during a very intense North Vietnamese Army rocket and mortar attack at LZ JAIME. LZ Jaime was located 14 miles southeast of Katum in Tay Ninh Province, RVN. Only a few miles from the Cambodian border, on August 15, 1969, the base was subjected to a North Vietnamese Army mortar attack. Three American personnel were killed in the barrage. Two were artillerymen from A Battery, 1st Battalion, 30th Artillery, 1st Cavalry, one was PFC Frank C. Armijo. He was 18 years old.2
