Hilda Florence Berry Hodges

Hilda Florence Berry served as a nurse with the U.S. Army Nurse Corps in World War I from 2 November 1918 to 2 August 1919. She was stationed at a hospital in New York.[i] Hilda was born in Ontario Canada and married her husband James Arthur Hodes 26 June 1923 in Ontario[ii]; however, following their marriage they moved to Baltimore, Maryland. Hilda became a naturalized citizen of the United States on May 5, 1943. At that time, she and James were living in Baltimore with their two children.[iii] She died in Santa Fe, New Mexico but had been a long-time resident of White Rock, New Mexico prior to her death on 30 March 1976.[iv] Her husband James, who died 1972, had also served in World War I and is buried with his wife at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.[v]
