Jeanne Marie Wise Kelly served as an enlisted instructor in Free Aerial Gunnery for the Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service (WAVES).1 Kelly trained at Hunter College N.Y.C., and was stationed at Pensacola Naval Air Base.1
Kelly was born February 22, 1922 in Scarsdale, New York.1 In 1941, she graduated from Pine Manor Junior College.1 After graduating, she worked in New York City, New York and Hollywood, California prior to joining the WAVES. She returned to work at the end of the war.1 In 1949, Kelly travelled to Santa Fe, NM for six months, where she met her husband Daniel T. Kelly, who served in World War II and the Korean War.1,2 Kelly had five children and worked as a philanthropist for the remainder of her life in Santa Fe.1
