Juanito Garcia

U.S. Army, PFC, Juanito García 

Birth: 20 MAY 1923  Carnuel, Bernalillo County, New Mexico 
Death: 7 JULY 2012  Albuquerque, New Mexico 

PFC, Garcia fought in D-Day at the Normandy landings, Rhineland, and Ardennes. He was wounded in action in France and Belgium and awarded the Purple Heart.1 PFC Garcia’s father, Atanacio García was the son of Vivian García, who was a descendant of one of the first families who settled in Carnuel, New Mexico, and heirs to the Land Grant of Carnuel. PFC Garcia’s son Isidro Garcia was killed in action in Vietnam. His obituary described him as a honest hard working man and a provider.2
