PFC Lorenzo Alderete was the son of Francisco Alderete of Willard and Reina Marquez. He served as a guard patrolman in the South Pacific involved in the New Guinea and Luzon South Pacific Campaigns. He contacted malaria and spent many months recovering after returning to New Mexico from the Pacific Theater.1
