About SFCC-VLGP

The Santa Fe Community College Veterans Legacy Grant Program (SFCC-VLGP) commemorates our New Mexican Veterans through the discovery and sharing of their stories. SFCC-VLGP encourages students, faculty, and teachers at colleges, universities and K-12 level in New Mexico and beyond to immerse themselves in the rich historical resources found within National Cemetery Administration cemeteries, and related historical documents. Participants can research Veterans interred in New Mexico’s cemeteries and develop educational tools that increase public awareness of Veteran service and sacrifice.

Founded in 2021, the SFCC-VLGP was established as a model of community engagement — sponsoring events that reflect the unique impact of veterans on their local community, as well as providing a variety of resources to the community, including digital versions of biographies and interviews, educational resources, and other services. We welcome anyone interested in learning more to contact us at vlgp@sfcc.edu.
